Holiday Overview
Make a fully lined soft weekender bag that is great for weekends away, as a sports bag or an extra bag for holiday shopping! You will cut out and quilt the various elements and then put them together, with piping, or mock piping of the pockets, front and back. You will add metal feet, a robust zip and magnetic clasps. Led by expert Wendy Gardiner, there are lots of techniques to learn while you create a fabulous bag!

Itinerary
Please choose your preferred 4 day itinerary
Skill Level: All abilities, but basic sewing machine skills would be helpful.
Techniques Covered: Diamond Grid quilting using a quilters guide, making and attaching piping (or you can opt for ‘mock’ piping), making and attaching lined patch pockets, inserting a zip, making bag handles (the easy way), adding magnetic clasps and bag feet.
What to Bring: 1m of 115cm wide cotton fabric, 1m of lining and of Bosal or Vlieseline Style-Vil Fix, 50cm of contrast fabric for piping strips, or a fat quarter (you can also buy 4m piping cord already made up if you prefer), 1 x 22-26” zip (robust metal teeth zip), 2 magnetic clasps, 4 bag feet, and Pelmet Vilene or similar card for base of bag 53 x 19cm (21 x 7 ½”).
Check in to your room from 3pm.

Tour Notes: Although there are no mobility requirements for this tour, please note that you will need to be able to make your own way between our workshop room, your bedroom and the restaurant, which could involve walks of up to 5 minutes. If you require full disabled access, please check with us before booking.
