Enjoy two days with Emma exploring new crochet stitches and perfecting your skills, working on a beautiful mandala that will be the centrepiece of any table setting. For those wishing to take it a step further Emma will guide you in a follow up motif, creating a textured floral hexagon that can be adapted to make a blanket.
Please choose your preferred 3 day itinerary
Skill Level: This retreat assumes a confidence in the basic crochet stitches: double crochet, half treble crochet and treble crochet. If you can make a granny square, you can make a mandala! Not suitable for complete beginners.
Requirements List: 4.5mm crochet hook, scissors, yarn needle, stitch marker. If you intend to take things further with the follow-up motif, you will also need to bring a 4mm crochet hook and 5 x 25g balls of acrylic double knit (5 colours of your choosing).
Check in to your room from 3pm. Get to know your expert, Retreat Manager and fellow crafters over dinner this evening.
We begin our mandalas with the magic loop as we work our way out from the centre learning new stitches with every round. You will work at your own pace, with Emma teaching you everything you need to know along the way.
Today you can either continue with your mandala or get to work on a new pattern to create decorative, textured, hexagonal motifs using double knit yarn from your personal stash.
Tour Notes: Although there are no mobility requirements for this tour, please note that you will need to be able to make your own way between our workshop rooms, your bedroom and the restaurant, which could involve walks of up to 5 minutes. If you require full disabled access, please check with us before booking.
