Kraków’s Easter Market is one of the city’s most vibrant seasonal celebrations, bringing together traditional Polish holiday customs with an array of food, crafts, and cultural experiences. Stalls overflow with handmade treasures and classic Easter decorations, alongside a tempting selection of Polish delicacies and regional specialities. The atmosphere is alive with folk music and performances, while artisan displays offer an authentic glimpse into Polish traditions. This short break includes a guided walking tour of Kraków’s Old Town and three half-day workshops with your expert. Afternoons are yours to enjoy – explore the Easter market in full bloom, or join optional excursions to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Wieliczka Salt Mines. It’s a perfect way to experience the colour, charm, and sense of renewal that Easter brings to Poland.

Having escaped destruction during World War II, Kraków has retained much of its medieval charm. This morning’s walking tour includes Rynek Główny, Kraków’s central market square, which, at 40,000 square metres, is the largest in Europe. Surrounded by elegant townhouses and medieval palaces, the square is home to the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) and St Mary’s Church, both of which we will explore today.
The Cloth Hall, originally opened in the 13th century as a bustling market packed with stalls, was later rebuilt in Renaissance style and became an important international trade centre. The 14th-century St Mary’s Church is one of Kraków’s most famous attractions. A highlight of its interior is the 12-metre-long wooden altarpiece by Veit Stoss, featuring over 15 carved figures – the largest of its kind in Europe.
This afternoon, enjoy your first workshop in the hotel with Mandy.

This afternoon, enjoy free time at Kraków Easter Market, or join our optional excursion to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camps. Today, they stand as a memorial and museum to the 1.1 million men, women, and children who lost their lives here. Your guided visit will be led by an English-speaking educator, offering a deeper understanding of the historical significance and uniqueness of both sites.

Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore Kraków. With its enchanting atmosphere and warm hospitality, the city promises a memorable holiday experience. Alternatively, join us for an optional excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous attractions in the Kraków area. This underground world features saline lakes, stunning chambers, and even a chapel – all created by miners over centuries of labour.
With our English-speaking guide, we’ll learn about the 700-year history of the mine, the miners who worked here and explore just some of the labyrinth of underground corridors, each holding its own unique story.
With our flight-inclusive package, we include your transfer to Kraków Airport. From here, you will board your return flight to London.
If you have booked our join direct package, your tour ends after breakfast.
Please Note: You will need a reasonable level of fitness to make the most of this holiday. During the three-hour walking tour of Kraków, you will spend most of the time on your feet, including some walking on cobblestones. Auschwitz-Birkenau are extensive sites, and you will spend much of your time there standing or walking. Due to their historical nature, surfaces can be uneven, and some of the buildings at Auschwitz are accessed via stairs. The excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine will be by train, with a 10-minute walk at either end of the journey. The two-mile guided tour of the salt mine involves ascending and descending 800 stairs. As with Auschwitz, surfaces can be uneven. We do not recommend this excursion for anyone with claustrophobia.
