In the Frame Quilt Sewing Machine Weekend

We begin by exploring fabric choices and colour placement, helping you decide how to combine your prints and contrasts to achieve that striking framed effect. You’ll have time to play with different layouts and gain confidence in selecting combinations that really make your fabrics shine. From there, we move on to rotary cutting, focusing on accuracy and efficiency to ensure your pieces fit together beautifully. With your fabrics prepared, you’ll begin machine piecing the blocks, learning tips and techniques to achieve precise seams and a consistent finish.

By the end of the day, you’ll have completed a selection of blocks and developed a clear understanding of the process, setting you up perfectly for the next stage of the project.

Continue piecing until you have enough blocks to complete your layout. Once your blocks are ready, we’ll move on to assembling the quilt top. You’ll learn how to add sashing and borders to frame your design and enhance the overall visual impact. As the day progresses, you’ll bring all the elements together into a finished quilt top.

Finally, we’ll explore ideas for quilting and finishing, so you leave with a clear plan for completing your quilt at home.
