Holiday Overview
The Flying Geese block is a highly versatile design, widely used in a variety of patchwork projects. Over the course of the retreat, you’ll be introduced to seven different construction techniques, and exploring a range of methods is a great way to discover what works best for you. By the end of the weekend, you’ll likely have a favourite method that suits your style and workflow, along with a finished table runner or cushion cover.

Itinerary

Skill Level: Suitable for all levels, from beginners to those with more experience.
Requirements List: Rotary cutter, ruler, mat, 6-inch square ruler or larger, marking pencil, pins, quilt clips, fabric and paper scissors.
Make your own way to the Staverton Park Hotel & Golf Club and check in to your room from 3pm. Get to know your expert, Retreat Manager and fellow guests over dinner this evening.

Today we’ll explore seven different techniques for creating the Flying Geese block, learning how combining and rotating the units can produce a variety of striking designs.

Put your new skills into practice by choosing your favourite Flying Geese technique, or combining a couple of methods, to create a finished project. With guidance and support, you’ll work at your own pace to complete either a table runner or a cushion cover, bringing your design together and leaving with a beautiful handmade piece.
Following the workshop, depart Staverton Park Hotel & Golf Club and make your own way home.

Please Note: Although there are no mobility requirements for this tour, please note that you will need to be able to make your own way between our workshop room, your bedroom and the restaurant, which could involve walks of up to 5 minutes. If you require full disabled access, please check with us before booking.
