The thought of cutting into your beautiful, knitted colour work fills people with dread, but Anna Nikipirowicz can take away the fear of steeking! During your workshops, you will learn how to work colour cast on, knit with two colours using the two-handed method, strand the yarn, how to knit in the round and how to read Fair Isle charts. You’ll also learn how to reinforce the steek, to cut the fabric and pick up for edgings as we work on a fabulous bag.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Requirements List: 4.5mm and 50cm in length circular knitting needles, stitch marker, tapestry needle and scissors.
Check in to your room from 3pm. Get to know Anna, your Retreat Manager and fellow guests over dinner this evening.
Today we’ll focus on colour work, learning how to cast on, knit with two colours using the two-handed method, strand the yarn, knit in the round and read Fair Isle charts.
Today we’ll focus on steeking, learning how to reinforce the steek, to cut the fabric and pick up for edgings. Depart in the late afternoon with plenty of new skills.
Please Note: Although there are no mobility requirements for this tour, please note that you will need to be able to make your own way between our workshop room, your bedroom and therestaurant, which could involve walks of up to 5 minutes.
