On this fantastic craft weekend alongside expert Emma Leith, learn how to make an assortment of 3D flowers to create a beautiful wreath. Each flower will use a different technique that will give you the confidence to tackle just about any flower pattern. Add some crochet leaves and decorative sprigs and you will leave with your bouquet of flowers arranged in a wreath.
Please choose your preferred 3 day itinerary
Skill Level: Intermediate – you must be confident in double and treble crochet as well as working in the round
What to Bring: Crochet hooks, needles and scissors.
Check in to your room from 3pm. Meet with your expert, Retreat Manager and fellow guests for dinner this evening.
Introducing the delights of working 3D flowers, we begin our wreath with a simple 8-petal flower to familiarise ourselves with working a continuous spiral, into back and/or front loops, and finishing with French knots.
We will then progress onto large daisies and learn how to adapt the middle to create a flatter or rounder centre. This will help you gain confidence to branch out and experiment with making your own versions.
Working from all that we learned yesterday, we begin with double headed flowers working two rounds for the petals and play with different stitches to make larger and smaller petals.
We then continue with little rose buds, leaves and little decorative sprigs before assembling our flowers onto the wreath.
